They sang, danced and showcased their talents last Friday and Saturday as students at Marengo Elementary School dazzled audiences during a pair of talent show performances held in the auditorium at South Pasadena Middle School. Along with plenty of singing, dancing, there were those who played the piano, and acted out skits, all the while prompting smiles and laughter from appreciative audiences. Kids performed their first talent show in front of classmates and faculty last Friday morning and performed again Saturday night in front of parents, grandparents and guests. Talent shows often provide a child the opportunity to discover their talents, and a supporting community like South Pasadena always shows them that their best effort will always be appreciated. The love of music, expression through dance, drama and the visual arts cross all socioeconomic and cultural boundaries and gives students a chance to show their talents in a meaningful way, aside from academics and athletics.
